Open Door Studios focuses on the enjoyment of learning music.  Come with any level of experience and enjoy the process of improving your technique and understanding music at a deeper level.  Rin has been a violinist all of her life.  She was inspired at an early age by her grandmother to pick up the violin, and with the guidance of a Suzuki teacher and her mother, she explored the violin from the age of 4 and on.  Rin grew up playing music in the Madison area with Suzuki Strings of Madison, WYSO and other summer music camps.  She pursued it in college at the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, earning a bachelors degree in jazz performance.  She also studied violin instruction at the American Suzuki Institute, bringing her music career full circle and becoming a Suzuki teacher.

In addition to teaching, Rin is an active performer in the Madison area.  Sortin' The Mail (bluegrass) and The Five Points Jazz Collective are her main two projects.

Rin teaches violin and mandolin, jazz improvisation, bluegrass, music theory and classical technique.  Students of all ages and levels of experience are welcome.
